Too shallow and not enough controversy i say to my self.
God is our ultimate goal. He is everything. The goal, the focus, the purpose... everything. So the greatest thing we can talk about is Him.
He is totally unlimited. Nothing holds Him in or forces Him. I believe that God is not limited by time. He never reacts and is above the constrains of time. I believe that God created time, not only the concept but all of time. He steps back with all of the time line of history in front of Him, which He created completely. I believe he created where every atom would be for all of time, and every action of man was created by God as well.
That kind of snuck up on your didn't it, you agreed at first than completely shut down. But think is this not necessary, for God to be God He cannot be limited by anything and if He was waiting for things to happen so He could influence it wouldn't that make Him subject to it and us?

What!!! You believe that even our actions are part of God's predetermined sovereign plan?
I agree 100%. To place any limitation on God is to deny His very "God-ness" completely. My favourite (dripping sarcasm here) is when people claim that "God limits Himself" in their effort to prove man's libertarian free will and the like.
What about sin? Well, Adam HAD to sin. He is responsible, for he committed the act. However, if Christ was slain before the foundation of the world in the predetermined plan of God, and the reason for His death was the glory of the Father in the salvation of certain sinful men, then there had to be sinful men to be recipients of said salvation, else Christ was before the foundation of the world slain unnecessarily, and God failed in His plan.
One of the most amazing things about God is that He is all that you said and more, and yet in His unfathomable grace, He uses worthless pieces of dust like us to accomplish His purposes. One may ask, "Why does He need me?" Well, the answer is simple: He doesn't. But Oh, what an amazingly humbling opportunity we have to be used by our loving, gracious Sovereign for His own glory. (At this point, Griff would throw up his hands, yell "Whoa!", say, "God is Big, man is small", and then tell us to read Romans 11:33-36).
Thanks for the humbling reminder of the immeasurable greatness of the Sovereign Creator of the universe.
I thought you were trying to be controversial...
I was trying to be controversial... i guess i am surrounded by a bunch of heretics like me!!!!! Good stuff and i really appreciate the Griff shout out!!!!! Let us wait and see if anybody will disagree i know they are out there.
